Major challenges in the German social system:
shortage of skilled workers in Germany
Germany is facing a significant shortage of skilled workers in the education sector, particularly in kindergartens and childcare facilities. Thousands of positions could remain unfilled by 2030, leading to a significant bottleneck in early childhood education. This understaffing is putting a strain on existing staff and affecting the quality of care and support for children.
High integration effort
The integration of international educators requires a high level of organizational and financial effort as well as a considerable amount of time. Language courses, intercultural training and administrative support, such as visa applications and finding accommodation, are necessary to successfully integrate the new employees into the institutions.
High fluctuation
Many educators return to their homeland after a complex integration process or change employers, which leads to high levels of fluctuation. This willingness to change is exacerbated by inadequate working conditions, a lack of appreciation and high levels of psychological stress. This represents an additional challenge for the institutions.
Sustainably combating the shortage of skilled workers:
Animo wants to contribute to the long-term strengthening of the education system in Germany by placing and integrating international specialists. However, we are aware that only a holistic approach that combines various measures can solve this problem sustainably:
training of skilled workers in Germany
Improvement of working conditions and recognition
recruitment and integration of international specialists
Technological support and digitalization
Targeted training programs
Our innovative approach:
Animo offers social care institutions a unique solution for recruiting and integrating international professionals. Our approach combines a comprehensive au pair program with professional placement in the education sector. This allows professionals to prepare for their career entry in a safe and supportive environment, while education institutions benefit from well-integrated and motivated employees.
Global networking:
Thanks to our network with universities, health authorities and specialist institutions in countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Spain and Brazil, we recruit the most qualified nurses for the German health sector. Their training meets the high German standards and we take care of all administrative steps - from obtaining visas to recognizing qualifications - for a smooth start and long-term career prospects in Germany.
Au Pair Program:
Professionals begin their journey at Animo as an au pair in a loving host family. This family environment offers them a safe place to start in a foreign country, providing orientation and personal support. In the first 6-12 months, they live with the host family and complete intensive language courses and intercultural training. This facilitates cultural acclimatization and ensures that they can start their professional future with solid German language skills and a good understanding of German culture.
professional placement
After the au pair phase, the professionals are deployed in kindergartens, day-care centers or other social institutions according to their qualifications. Through their stay with a host family, they have become acquainted with everyday German family life, which has given them additional cultural insights and an understanding of the culture of education and care in Germany. The professionals commit to staying with their employer for at least 24 months, which gives the institutions planning security. After that, they have the option of either staying in Germany or returning to their home country to continue to make use of their international experience.

Why do we work primarily with professionals from Latin America and Spain?
Animo primarily recruits professionals from Latin America and Spain, as these regions have highly trained teaching staff. Many of these professionals have university degrees and excellent teaching qualifications, but face challenges due to high unemployment rates and limited career prospects. Countries such as Brazil and Mexico also have tight education budgets, which leads to a lack of jobs in education. Special programs run by the German government support the targeted recruitment of educators from these countries to address the shortage of skilled workers in the German education system. We ensure that the professionals' countries of origin have sufficient staff of their own and that their training meets German standards to ensure smooth recognition in Germany.
Process for recruiting skilled workers:
1
Advice and needs assessment:
In a personal meeting, we analyze your facility's personnel requirements and create a tailor-made offer. We pay attention to both the facility's requirements and the preferences of the specialists. This ensures that both sides are a good fit and can work together successfully in the long term.
2
Recruitment and getting to know each other:
Animo recruits qualified professionals in their home countries. These professionals complete an au pair program, have learned German (B2) and have integrated culturally. Since they are already on site, you can get to know the candidates personally to ensure they are a good fit for your organization. This means the recruitment process can be completed in around three months.
3
Onboarding and support:
Once a specialist has been selected, we support their integration into your facility. This includes help with finding accommodation, recognition of qualifications and administrative processing such as visa applications and dealing with authorities. Even after they have started their careers, we will continue to be available to you and the specialists as a contact person to ensure successful cooperation.
