Everything you need to know for your au pair stay:
money and support
Pocket money: You will receive €280 per month.
Language course : Your host family pays €70 per month for a language course. The aim is to improve your German level to B2.
Insurance: Your host family covers the costs of health, accident and liability insurance.

Working hours: You work a maximum of 30 hours per week, including babysitting, and have at least one day off per week
Vacation: If you stay for 12 months, you are entitled to 4 weeks of vacation plus public holidays off.
Areas of responsibility: Your tasks include childcare and light household chores.

Accommodation and meals: Provided free of charge by the host family.
Length of stay: Your stay will last between 6 and 12 months.
Privacy: You are entitled to your own, lockable room in the host family's apartment or house
requirements for au pairs
You are between 18 and 26 years old.
You have German language skills at least at A1 level.
You don't have any children of your own.
You would like to live in Germany for a period of 6 to 12 months.
You have sufficient financial resources for your trip.

How to get your
au pair visa for Germany
EU citizens: If you are a citizen of the European Union, you do not need a visa to come to Germany as an au pair. However, you must register with the local municipality upon arrival. It is also necessary that you take out health insurance in Germany.
Non-EU citizens: If you come from a non-EU country, you must apply for a visa before entering Germany. This visa is valid for a maximum of 12 months. To obtain the visa, you will need certain documents, including the original contract with your host family, an invitation letter, proof of health insurance and your valid passport. After you arrive in Germany, you must also register with the local municipality.
